The Korean Cultural Center in Brussels and the National Gugak Center hold a special exhibition titled "Dance and Music of the Royal Banquet in Korea" under the theme of ‘Imin jinyeondobyeong’, a Korean cultural property (Seoul Metropolitan Government Tangible Cultural Heritage Nos. 543 & 544). ‘Imin jinyeondobyeong’, made in 1902, is a ten-panel folding screen depicting the ceremonial procedures of King Gojong’s entrance into ‘giroso (a senior-level office for civil ministers)’ at the age of 51.
In this exhibition, representative Korean musical instruments used at royal banquets at the time, such as ‘gayageum’, ‘geomungo’, ‘daegeum’, and ‘piri’, as well as traditional performance costumes and ancient documents such as <Daeakhubo> and <Akhakgwebeom> will be displayed to introduce various aspects of the royal family of Korea.
