This year, during the Open Hanmadang tournament, there is also a special event. The world-renowned <Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team> will give a special demonstration. Kukkiwon promotes the Korean national sport, "Taekwondo," worldwide. They give demonstrations of style figures, sparring and various Taekwondo techniques, such as breaking wooden-boards. This Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration team recently won the 2nd prize in the famous American television program <The World’s Best>. Thanks to their participation in this program, they now enjoy a lot of attention worldwide.

During the Royal Visit of the KING Philippe in South Korea last March, King Philippe visited 'Kukkiwon(World Taekwondo Headquarters)' in Seoul at his own request. There he was warmly welcomed and he could enjoy a demonstration. After this he received a '8 dan of honor', a black belt from Kukkiwon and he successfully broke a wooden-board in two.
