Audition Announcement
for the Seoul International Community Orchestra(SICO)
The Korean Amateur Musicians’ Association (KOAMA) and the Seoul Foundation of Culture and Arts (SFCA) are proud to announce the Seoul International Community Orchestra Festival (SICOF) for amateur musicians worldwide as an expansion of the ”Orchestra for All” music festival, which has been held since 2014 at the Sejong Center in Seoul, Korea. This audition announcement seeks those who will be the founding members of Seoul International Community Orchestra (SICO) as representatives of each country and community.
Mission Statement
The Seoul International Community Orchestra Festival (SICOF)'s mission is to open a music festival which all the citizens could play in the orchestra, meet music lovers from the world and change the society through the power of music.

Number of Orchestra Members: Around 60 Members (※ 45 International Members, 15 Korean Members)
Who can Apply: Non-Professional Musician who was born before 20 September 1997
How to Apply: Submit SICO Application Form
Video Audition Requirement:
- All Applicants should submit an interview video no more than 3 minutes in length that expresses the reasons why he/she should be a member of the SICO. (※ If you do not speak in English or Korean in the interview, please send a text transcript in English to sicofseoul@gmail.com.)
- Tutti applicants must submit a video performance no more than 5 minutes of classical music pieces which are free of choice by the applicant.
Concertmaster and Principal applicants must submit a video performance no more than 5 minutes of the 1st movement of a standard concerto and orchestral excerpts chosen by the applicant.
※ Please note that the jury will consider five minutes only.
※ The submitted video(s) will be uploaded and open to the public via SICOF’s official channel.
Deadline: 17 May, 2017 (KST)
Eligible Instruments: Instruments in a standard Symphony Orchestra which is one of strings, woodwind, brass or percussion. ※ Please note that the Harp is not eligible for SICO 2017.

Results: 8 June 2017 ※ Applicants will be notified individually of the results.
SICO Activity Period: 20 ~ 25 Sep 2017 in Seoul, Korea
SICO Member Benefits: Round-trip flights accommodations and meals during the SICO activity period in Korea.
※ Members from outside Korea only
※ Air tickets are paid individually when the receipt of ticket is submitted after SICOF. SICO participant, ticket purchaser and airline passenger must be the same person.
※ Cost for carrying instruments are NOT supported.
※ The SICOF provides contrabasses and percussion instruments only.
