Korean Cultural Center Brussels seeks a Communication Staff

Purpose

To provide strategic support to the Korean Cultural Center introducing and familiarizing Belgian and European audiences to all aspects of Korean culture including, but not limited to, visual and performing arts, music, film, cuisine and sports. The Communications Officer will also focus on building a strong network of diverse audiences (online and offline) across regions and cultural backgrounds.

 

Job Description

 

  • Plan and build online and offline promotion of Korean culture supporters and audiences to support growing the organization’s brand development and key message concepts; must be able to think imaginatively and multi-disciplinarily across various arts sectors
  • Research, recommend and implement innovative marketing & publicity strategies to broaden the audience for the Korean Cultural Centre Brussels programs, including media outreach, promotion, advertising & more
  • Act as the main point of contact between the general public, cultural institutions and the Korean Cultural Center Brussels staff
  • Must be knowledgeable of current local cultural arts affairs and to use own networks to promote KCCB’s growth; develop in-depth knowledge of all areas of KCCB’s programs and staff
  • Analyze online and print media and PR trends and apply to new marketing strategies and event coordination
  • Research topics of interest to the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism as needed
  • Additional duties as required to assist the Korean Cultural Center Brussels in its mission to promote awareness of Korea & Korean culture
  • Write copy and create content for marketing campaigns and collaborates with designers to blend copy with images and/or video
  • Support various multiple marketing strategies and event programs to broaden and manage KCC Brussels’ audience

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Must be a native French or Flemish speaker (no exceptions); bilingual with English (Korean preferential)
  • Minimum of 2 years in related experience
  • Previous experience in the non-profit industry and/or cultural organization preferred
  • Excellent writing & communication skills
  • B.A. in related field; higher degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other graphic software (In Design, Photoshop etc.)
  • High degree of understanding of Korean organizations & culture
