"Choreography in the Spotlight"

In recent years, the word “choreography” has become popular in Korea. What is choreography? The word “choreography” means to put together dance movements in advance. But these days, the word “choreography” is used alone, it typically refers to a blend of various street dance styles, such as breaking, popping and rocking, rather than a single genre. It usually refers to the design of dance movements that combine various street dances or just choreography that can’t be described as traditional street dance. Let’s take a look at how choreography is being embraced in Korea.

"Fried Chicken Full of Korean Vibes"

Korean fried chicken, or K-fried chicken, has evolved into a unique dish since its introduction to Korea by the U.S. military in the 1950s. It became popular in the 1970s due to economic growth and improvements in chicken breeds. The 1980s saw the emergence of the chimaek culture, where people ordered fried chicken for delivery while watching sports events, making it Korea’s go-to delivery food. The yangnyeom chicken sauce was developed to keep the chicken tender when cold. The industry has since boomed, with numerous brands and menu items, and has even made its way overseas. Despite its U.S. origins, Korean fried chicken is considered a true Korean dish, reflecting Korea’s unique history, culture, and ingredients. It’s now seen as an iconic dish of Korea.
