Choreographer Kim’s, “Kim Bock Hee Dance Company,” celebrated its 50thanniversary in 2020. Kim Bock Hee Dance Company has been the most representative dance company leading the globalization of Korean modern dance by having the most overseas performancesamongall Korean dance companies. The dance company has been introducing Korean modern dance in more than 20 performances in various countries in the world including Spain, France, the United States of America, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Indonesia, Guatemala, Egypt, Thailand, Argentina and Ecuador since the 1990s. Since the 1990s In 2003, Kim Bock Hee Dance Company participated in the 23rdInternational Choreographers’ showcase in Kentucky, Louisville in U.S., and had a3-citiestour performance in Venezuela. In addition, the company was invited to perform KimBockHee’s dance workat“V. Festival Internacional Mujeresen La Danza”in Ecuador, Teatro Cervantes Malaga and in Spain for 2years consecutively. The company also performed at the Teatro de Cordoba in Spain. Since the first performance at Myungdong art theater in 1971, Kim Bock Hee Dance Company has been emphasizing Korean-ness through simple lines and concise expression that present Choreographer Kim’s unique dance work. Choreographer Kim’s strong art view of “seeking Korean-ness is the way to be most global” confirmed not to make mistake of losing its identity through senseless act of renewing and changing. With the title of “Pioneer of Globalizing Korean Modern Dance,” Kim Bock Hee Dance Company raises interest in the art world by introducing the excellence of Korean Modern dance and enhances publicity by introducing familiarity of Korean modern dance. Kim Bock Hee Dance Company continues to challenge itself to raise a new horizon of recognition for Korean performing arts. Brussels Cello Festival 2022 14-16 Oct. 2022 @ Royal Conservatory of Brussels The Brussels Cello Festival is an internationally recognized biennial cello festival bringing together the world’s top cellists and young talents to Belgium for a week of inspiring concerts and masterclasses. In continued partnership with the Korean Cultural Center of Brussels, The 2022 edition will not only celebrate the return of live music to our stages, but also honor the 200th anniversary of Belgian composer César Franck and the 100th anniversary of Belgian cellist/composer Eric Feldbusch. Recital highlights include the 2022 Queen Elisabeth Competition 1st prize winner Hayoung Choi and the 2022 Buchet International Cello Competition top laureates. Also planned are free public masterclasses given by our artists, giving us a glimpse into their brilliant minds. She is not only known as a jazz vocalist but also known as a talented composer and producer in Korea. As a vocalist, her voice has been reviewed as the most authentic voice by music critics and listeners. Her 3rd, 4th, and 6th albums are written in the Korean Language.
