70 years after a fratricidal war that left the country in ruins, South Korea is now attracting all attention for its impressive cultural and economic success. The life journey of the 5 characters of the movie is directly linked to the history of this country.
After this conflict, three of them have chosen to leave Belgium to settle permanently in South Korea, the two others have taken the opposite route out of obligation. Didier t’Serstevens, Marie-Hélène Brasseur and Julian Quintart made the journey in one direction, Sang Hoon Degeimbre and Cathy Min Jung in the other.
They all share a Belgian-Korean diversity that they sometimes experience as an asset, sometimes like a tear. Each of them managed to overcome the obstacles that punctuated their path, the differences in culture, language, civilization and acquired a certain notoriety in a country about which they initially knew nothing. All 5 of them were adopted by their new country in a way and found their place in the society there.
This film is an opportunity to tell 5 beautiful, inspiring stories, 5 lives which find their foundation in cultural diversity and determination, often synonymous with creation, inventiveness and surpassing oneself.
