KCC On Stage 2026: Discover Korean Performing Arts at the KCC!

The Korean Cultural Center presents a recital by pianist Chloé Jiyeong Mun, who has captivated audiences around the world with her natural tone and refined, deeply expressive playing.

Mun first came to international attention by winning the Geneva International Music Competition in 2014 and the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in 2015 in quick succession. At the Busoni Competition, she became the first Asian winner and the first winner in 15 years. She has since released her debut album on Deutsche Grammophon and performed at major European venues including the Musikverein in Vienna, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and Wigmore Hall in London. Having studied with the legendary pianist Sir András Schiff, she is touring with him throughout 2026 in a series of recitals for piano four hands.

This concert takes the form of a "Schubertiade," named after the musical gatherings Schubert held with his friends. From the bright, lyrical Piano Sonata No. 13 and the Three Piano Pieces written in the composer's final year to the dramatic Piano Sonata No. 16, the program unfolds the full emotional range of Schubert's music in a single evening.

Through Mun's sensitive interpretation, discover the deep solitude, inner resonance and profound humanity at the heart of Schubert's music.
