- Post Date03-06-2020
[K-SERIES: 1. TRADITION]
K-SERIES is a online cultural experience project by the Korean Cultural Center Brussels.
We propose you to feel Korean culture which is never far away.
The first theme is 'Tradition'.
And here, we would like to present a concert related to the Korean traditional music called 'GUGAK'.
We had a great pleasure welcoming the National Gugak Center to Brussels at 2017. Therefore, it's an immense emotion to meet them again online.
This concert <NAMDO SINAWI> is organized and performed by the National Gugak Center.
[NAMDO SINAWI]
Sinawi is instrumental ensemble music based on improvisational shaman music. In Korea, different regions have developed their own sinawi versions using diverse instrument combinations, keys, jangdan (rhythm cycles) and playing styles. Namdo Sinawi, the most popular among the various regional sinawi, is based on Namdo (Korea’s Southern region) shaman music, and is characterized by intense emotional expression.
