2023 Global Korea Scholarship(GKS) Program
National Institute for International Education(NIIED) is an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education in Korea that annually selects foreign graduate scholarship students invited by the Korean Government to foster talented students in overseas and promote educational exchanges in international level. Our Embassy, therefore, is planning to select scholarship students among Belgian nationals for Korean graduate programs.

※ Please read all the attached documents carefully to prepare your application.
1. Number of Grantees
o General Program(Master's/Doctoral) : 1 candidate
o Teaching Professional Program: up to 5 candidates
o Research Program : up to 3 candidates
2. Duration of Scholarship
o General Program : Master's 3 years / Doctoral 4 years
o Research Program : 6 months or 1 year
3. Available Fields of Study and Universities
o 65 Universities selected by NIIED (check the attached document #5, ‘University Information’)
4. Eligibility
o for the eligibility for each programs, check the attached #3, 4 ‘2023 GKS-G Application Guidelines’
5. Selection Schedule(it may be subject to change)
o Application Submission : by 09.03.2023. (THU)
o 1st Round of Selection(Embassy) : the week of 13.03.2023.
- selected applicants will be invited to the Embassy for an interview on 16.03.(THU).
- the result will be announced on 20.03.(MON) by email.
o 2nd Round of Selection(NIIED) : End of April 2023
o 3rd Round of Selection(University) : End of May 2023
o Final Announcement : End of June 2023
6. Application Method
o The Documents for 1st Round of Selection
- all the documents(except Form 5 'Recommendation Letter') should be submitted by email.
- 4 sets of Form 5 'Recommendation Letter' should be hand-delivered(by post or in person) in a sealed envelope.
o The Documents for 2nd Round of Selection
- all the documents should be hand-delivered(by post or in person) by 24.03.(FRI).
- all the documents should be 4 sets : 1 original and 3 sets of copy.
- required certificates must be apostilled.
