"Korean Culture Days; Hallyu Town"

17 & 18 June 2023 @ Place de Brouckère

The long-awaited “Korean Culture Days” Festival is back. This time, with “Hallyu Town” which contains more diverse and richer content! This two-day festival from June 17 to 18 on place de Brouckère allows you to discover everything related to Korean culture. The year 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and the European Union. In Brussels, in the heart of Europe, we invite you to a festival called “Korean Culture Days; Hallyu Town” full of events to celebrate the friendship between Korea and the European Union.

Creating a K-PRODUCT Boom in the Heart of the K-POP Wave

“Hallyu”, which translates to Korean wave, has established a solid foundation through popular culture such as TV dramas and music, pushing the boundaries of its influence since the 2010s. As Korean culture has become widely known to people around the world through global online platforms, the craze has spread to Korean traditional culture, food, literature, and language, creating even more enthusiasts.

You can experience various programs such as Meet & Greet "HI-TOUCH", Korean fusion traditional music performance and one-day cooking class. With the rise in popularity of Korean culture, <Hallyu Town> creates lasting collaboration results based on the global Hallyu Fandustry market. As a bridgehead for the overseas expansion of K-Products, which have increased their popularity thanks to the K-pop craze, < Hallyu Town > supports overseas Korean enterprises for online and offline market development by managing Biz-Matching with big buyers in local and neighboring countries.

Three main areas; stage, event zone, and stalls

Various Korean products in one place; Stalls

First of all, from 9:30 a.m., on entering the festival area, around forty varied stands await you. In these stalls, you can discover and buy skin care and other K-beauty products, K-pop related goods and many other products made by Creative ideas. Of course, you cannot miss the stalls where you can ‘taste of Korea’. Four popular Korean restaurants in Brussels will have special stalls to offer authentic Korean cuisine, so you can buy, taste and savor the dishes you want.

In addition, you can also visit the stand of the Korean Cultural Center, one of the most active artistic institutions in Brussels, and find out about the different programs. Additionally, Korea hopes to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan. There is also a Busan World Expo booth where you can get information about it, so learn about the different charms of Busan and why the World Expo should be held in Busan.

Win prizes with fun Korean games; Event Zone

The event space is a space where everyone can participate and have fun. Several funny Korean games that appeared in the "Squid Game" will also take place. In addition, an OX quiz on Hallyu is held so that you can participate freely, and a showdown is held, why not cooperate with people you don't know yet? If you play hard and win the game, you will also receive a gift voucher. It can be used to purchase your favorite Korean products from stalls.

Scream all you want; K-Pop Concert

K-pop fans must be absolutely curious about what's happening on stage. Various events also take place on the stage. First, on the afternoon of the 17th, a fun Korean cooking show using locally available ingredients will take place. There will also be wonderful K-pop cover dance performances by local Korean wave clubs. And anyway, we can't leave out K-Pop concerts, the most enthusiastic time for K-Pop fans. K-pop concerts are held daily from 5:30 p.m. for about two hours. A total of 4 K-pop teams take part in this festival, starting with groups like OnlyOneOf, CSR, Lee Sang and ending with solo Paul Kim. Although K-pop singers sometimes perform in Belgium, four teams have never had the opportunity to meet the public in the same place. In addition, all these performances are free.

Wish your luck; HI-TOUCH

Can't just watch K-pop singers? If so, you might want to wait for the ‘Hi-TOUCH’ contact time. High touch is a kind of “wish your luck” to get on stage, give a high five to a K-pop star, and have time to take a picture. Literally, "good luck" is not something to give to everyone, so there are ways to follow to get the chance. To inform you in advance of the HI-TOUCH program, on the 17th, OnlyOneOf (1:30 p.m.), Paul Kim (4:00 p.m.), and on the 18th, you can meet the CSR (1:30 p.m.) and finally Paul Kim (4:00 p.m.) once again.

How to wish good luck? If you buy a product you want at Korean product stalls, you will receive an instant lottery ticket at the very stall. Scratch the instant lottery ticket with a coin to see if you were lucky enough to meet a K-pop star. If you win, you can wait for your turn and take the stage during the singer's HI-TOUCH time to enjoy the happiness.
