Synopsis;
"Escape from Mogadishu" is a film based on true events, portraying the harrowing escape of North and South Korean diplomats from war-torn Somalia in 1991. Set during the outbreak of the Somali Civil War, the story follows rival diplomats from the South Korean and North Korean embassies stationed in Mogadishu. Initially locked in a tense political competition for international recognition and UN membership, both delegations find themselves trapped as the city descends into chaos following the collapse of President Siad Barre’s regime. Forced to confront their shared vulnerability, the two sides must overcome decades of ideological hostility and cooperate in a desperate bid for survival.
