[Exhibition; Jeju Haenyeo, Women's Community, coexisting with nature]


The Korean Cultural Center is organizing a special exhibition on the intangible cultural heritage, the culture of <Haenyeo: Woman of the Sea>. In November 2016, the Haenyo culture was registered on the list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity by Unesco. This exhibition will present the marine culture of women of the sea through photos, diving materials such as ancient clothes for haenyeo, tools to collect seafood, videos illustrating the culture of women of the sea from earlier days to the present day.

- Opening: May 2nd at 19h: in the presence of Mrs Ineke Steevens, Director of the National Fisheries Museum (NAVIGO - Nationaal Visserijmuseum)
