THE 7TH KOREAN SPEECH CONTEST


Saturday 24 November 2018, 3 PM at the KCC Brussels.

 
  The 7th Korean speech contest in Brussels will be held once again at the Korean Cultural Center on November 24th, 2018. The contest is designed for Belgian and European learners of the Korean language who wish to show their speaking abilities. The aim of the contest is to encourage the study of Korean language and culture.
 
Date, time and venue
         24 November, 3 PM, Korean Cultural Center (4 Rue de la Régence, 1000 Brussels)
 
Entry Qualification
Any non-native speakers of Korean over the age of 18 residing in Belgium.
 
Selection procedure
This year the applications will be submitted to a selection committee which will make the list of the selected participants. 
 
Application procedure
*      Application period: until 10th November 2018
*      Required documents: Registration form to be sent by e-mail to info@kccbrussels.be

Prizes

           

    Beginner :

 

    1st prize: Samsung Camera     

    2nd prize: Galaxy Tab     

    3rd prize: Korean tea set

     

    Non-Beginner :     

 

  1st prize: Return ticket to Korea*     

    2nd prize: Galaxy Tab     

    3rd prize: Korean tea set     


 

  Special prize: Consolation prize

 

All participants will receive vouchers for a Korean restaurant in Brussels.       

The winner of the 1st prize in the non- beginner section will receive a return ticket to Korea to participate in a special training during September 2019 organized by King Sejong Institute in Korea (accommodation will also be offered).

 

Those who won the 1st prize(s) in non-beginner section from last three contests (2015 to 2017) can’t participate, but will be invited to a special event in their honour.

 

 

Criteria’s:

         

Attention: it is not allowed to use any materials such as music, photos or computers. 
It is not allowed to do any kind of performance.  

 

Speech only.

1.Eloquence (25 points)

- Connection between the subject and its context

- Correctness of the grammar and vocabulary

- Relevance of the text level for participants

 

2. Fluency (30 points)

-Pronounciation

-Intonation

 

3. Attitude (30 points)

-Clarity

-Talking without reading

 

4. Reaction of the spectators (10 points)

 

5. Time Limit (5 points)

-Maximum 3 minutes
